Roy Barris qualified as an architect in 1986. He has worked in private practices on institutional, laws court, industrial and residential projects before establishing Pentarc in 1994. His past and current projects include industrial, high -end residential, multiple flat conversions, small residential extensions and commercial conversions. He works in collaboration with other practices where additional resources are required. He has a passion for photography and furniture design, primarily in wood. He has extensively researched the the form ordering principles found to be common to the great art in formal design media across culture and history. These principles are also found throughout natural form. (The derivation of the orders will be set out in a web site still under construction - link yet to be added) These interests extend to to systems such as Feng Shui and Vaastu and their impact on aesthetics.
